| Each year thousands of unwanted animals are born and ultimately euthanized because there aren’t enough homes. During the year, caring veterinarians throughout Virginia, in cooperation with the PetFix Coalition, offer low cost spay/neuter services to help reduce the pet overpopulation problem that results in over 142,000 dogs and cats being euthanized in our shelters each year. | PetFix helped sterilize over 30,000 animals. Throughout the year, we distribute discount certificates for needy animal owners requesting financial assistance to have their pets fixed. Petfix has been working tirelessly throughout Virginia to educate the public on the benefits of spay/neuter and the tragedy of the pet overpopulation crisis inundating our shelters |
